Recreational Dog Sledding Dry-land Foundations
This course is designed to give you the foundations for recreational sledding. There is no sled or skis needed for this course.
You will learn to teach your dog flatland or foundational behaviours that she will need BEFORE starting to pull a sled. It is designed for those who have no experience training a dog to pull a sled, but have trained a dog to do some basic behaviours such as sit, down and come.
Not everyone has access to in person instructors or a group that does recreational sledding. Some people live quite a distance from cities where there would be more access to instruction, trails, equipment etc.
An R+ Course
This is an R+ training course which means that we will be teaching our dogs without using corrections or intimidation to pull a sled correctly and effectively, and most importantly, so that your dog actually enjoys an excels at it.
Upon sign up, you will be sent an invitation to create a password to sign in on this website and access the course. You will get access to the first week of the course at this time. For access to each successive week, you will need to complete the previous week's homework.
Homework is posted in blog post format, which means that your homework (videos) will be accessible to other students of the course in order for others to learn from what you are doing.
You will need a method of taking and uploading videos.
To sign up, enter your name and email address below, read the info and check the box. This is not an email list sign up. You will not be sent regular emails after this course is over and your email address will be deleted.
